In-Home Resource Kit for School-Age Children
The Comprehensive After School System of NYC (COMPASS NYC) comprises more than 900 programs serving young people enrolled in grades K-12. The Friends of Crown Heights Educational Centers, Inc., (FOCH), is proud to be a contracted provider of these services in both school- and center-based settings, offering high-quality programs with a strong balance of academics, recreation, enrichment and cultural activities to support and strengthen the overall development of young people.
For our Elementary and Middle School students, the suspension of these programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been profoundly disruptive. Since the current school closures were announced, we have been fielding dozens of calls each day from anxious parents seeking suggestions on ways to engage their school-age children who are now confined at home. In response to these enquiries, our Assistant Director of After-school Programs, Mr. George C. Oluikpe, has compiled a list of In-Home Resources for Children and Families.
