Marie S. Francois is the Educational Director at our Pitkin Avenue Center, located at 2505 Pitkin Avenue in the East New York section of Brooklyn.
Ms. Francois is a career educator who brings to her position more than a decade of professional experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. Prior to her appointment as Educational Director, she had served for several years as a Special Education teacher, conducting student assessments and formulating goals for students with Individualized Educational Plans, providing one-on-one instruction for preschool children with learning disabilities and preparing students for the general education classroom. She has also previously served as a Bilingual Educational Evaluator – primarily for the Haitian American community – and as a head teacher in the Pre-K classroom.
Ms. Francois holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. John’s University, a dual Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Touro College, and the New York State Professional certification in both fields. She is additionally certified as a specialist in bilingual education.
Ms. Francois was born in Brooklyn and raised in a Haitian household; she is fluently trilingual in English, Haitian Kreyol and French.
